Isobel Cosgrove

Acupuncturist

One of Isobel’s primary professional commitments is to support clients at times of transition: adolescence, leaving home, pregnancy, menopause, retirement, bereavement. Illness often accompanies a time of change and transition and acupuncture can help us move forward into a next stage of health and life.

Isobel taught Human Sciences at Newcastle and Oxford Universities from 1965 to 1980. She studied Yoga and Tibetan medicine in Canada during a sabbatical year and then acupuncture in the UK before starting to practice in 1981.

During her forty-four years in practice, she has taught and directed acupuncture programmes in the UK and Canada. Isobel also studied at Spectrum Therapy in London and with Stanley Keleman in California, before establishing a supervisor and mentoring network in the UK acupuncture profession. She continues to be committed to maintaining high standards of practice, is a Fellow of the British Acupuncture Council and served on its national executive.
